However, should you wish to be guided in your choice we have carefully selected a panel of biker friendly solicitors based on their:-

  • own riding experience
  • experience in motorbike claims
  • commitment to plain English – not legal jargon
  • personal service
  • willingness to put themselves out on your behalf, for example, visiting you in hospital or at home if necessary
  • guaranteeing to pay you 100% of your damages
  • guaranteeing not to charge you
  • full regulation with the Law Society.

Bikers’ Advice receives no gratuitous referral fees or other financial ‘kickbacks’ from its chosen solicitors. We are paid simply for work we do – ie setting up the claim and continuing to monitor your claim throughout. And we do not ask you, the biker, for a penny.

Bikers’ Advice Solicitors

COTTRILL STONE LAWLESS (Manchester)

Phil Shuker, our legal director, is also the motorcycling partner of Manchester based solicitors, Cottrill Stone Lawless. He's a panel solicitor for the Motorcycle Action Group, the British Motorcycle Federation and founder member of the European Group of Biking Lawyers.

He writes, lectures and broadcasts on biking law and during his long career (more years than he cares to remember) has recovered millions of pounds compensation for biking clients. Currently he rides a Honda Steed (with all the cheesy accoutrements) and can usually be found in close proximity to the bar at many rallies and shows!

WARD GETHIN SOLICITORS (East Anglia)

As solicitors and notaries we offer a full range of legal services, including personal injury claims, residential and commercial conveyancing, matrimonial and wills and probate advice from our offices in East Anglia.

Neil John, biking Solicitor, was born in 1971 in Clacton on Sea (somebody has to be!). He went to school up to A Levels in Essex and then attended DeMontfort University Leicester to take a law degree, followed by a legal practice course. A serious road accident in a car not on a bike) in 1989, at the tender age of 17, meant Neil took three years longer to complete his training but set him on the course of being a personal injury Solicitor. He qualified as a Solicitor on 1st October 1999 and joined Ward Gethin at it's Kings Lynn office on 4th October 1999. Neil has been there ever since specialising in personal injury law. Neil is one of the founders of the BMF Biker Legal Line and part of the BLL management Team. Neil is pictured (the rotund, greying one) on his trusty VFR750, which has now been replaced with a VFR800.

 WOLFRETONS SOLICITORS (Plymouth)

Julian Nicholls, Julian Nicholls was born in Plymouth in 1960 and obtained an honours law degree from Exeter University in 1981. He was admitted as a solicitor in February 1989. After a short period dealing with General Litigation he started to specialise in motorcycle accidents early in 1995 and has continued to deal with this type of claim up to the present date.

Julian is a member of the BMF Biker Legal Line Committee.

He is pictured on a BMW K1200R motorcycle at last years BMF Biker Legal Line annual review.

He is a keen motorcyclist, and will shortly be purchasing another Harley Davidson (his 5th)
