SUPERBIKES: 2008 CALENDAR British Superbikes: 2008 calendar British Superbikes The 2008 British Superbike calendar has been released, though when making diary dates remember some dates might change. The series has been reduced from 13 to 12 races in 2008 following the demise of the Mondello Park round. Next year’s series also avoids date clashes with the two major international road races: the North West 200 on May 17, 2008 and the Isle of Man TT which starts on May 24, 2008 and runs for two weeks. April 6 Brands Hatch (GP circuit) * = Bank Holiday Monday race days
World Superbikes: 2008 provisional calendar World Superbikes A provisional calendar has been released for the 2008 World Superbike championship with the championship returning to America for the first time in four years. The US round will be held in Salt Lake City on June 1 but the season will kick off in Qatar on February 23, 2008. As it stands World Superbikes will only visit Britain twice next year heading to Brands Hatch on August 3 and the Donington Park round due to be held on September 7, 2008. There are still two dates to be confirmed on August 24 and September 7. With Britain’s James Toseland off to MotoGP for 2008 the door is wide open for a new champion. And with former champions Troy Bayliss and Troy Corser already lined up for 2008 it looks set to be a fantastic season. At this stage World Supersport will run with World Superbikes at every round except the Salt Lake City weekend in America. 2008 World Superbike provisional calendar: February 23 Qatar, Doha/Losail E&OE
