Badger's opinion

Lovely people – who like the Brits! One of Badger’s ancestors rescued the Danish Royal Family from the Nazis during the war. So expect a welcome. Many islands and rather flat so not the top touring biking country, but some interesting rallies. Can be quite expensive.

Drinking and Driving

Level of alcohol in blood over 0.05% = severe penalties including licence suspension, fines or imprisonment depending on the amount of excess

Driving Licence

Motorcycle – 17 years.

Fines

On-the-spot. If tourist does not accept fine, police can take the matter to court. Police may retain the vehicle until such time. Vehicles parked against regulations may be taken away.

Fuel

Unleaded petrol (92, 95 and 98 octane available). No leaded petrol (but lead substitute additive available). Credit cards accepted at most filling stations – check with card issuer for usage before travel.

Lights

Dipped headlights during daytime compulsory.

Insurance

third party compulsory.

Kids as Pillions

No age limit – but must reach footrests – approved helmet.
