English widely spoken but Badger loves to speak his fluent German and get his tongue around those long guttural German words. Touring and Rides Boring bits Drinking and Driving Level of alcohol in blood over 0.05% = penalties including fines and disqualification. Driving Licence Motorcycle up to 80cc = 16 years: Motorcycle over 80cc = 18 years. Fines On-the-spot or deposit. Can be fined for not only excess speed limit but using abusive language, making derogatory signs and running out of petrol on a motorway. Fuel Unleaded petrol (91, 95 and 98 octane available). No leaded petrol (but lead substitute additive available). Credit cards accepted at most filling stations – check with card issuer for usage in Germany. Lights Dipped headlights during day. Insurance third party compulsory. Kids as Pillions No age limit – but under 7 must use special seat.
