Drinking and Driving

Level of alcohol in blood over 0.05% = severe penalties including fines, confiscation of vehicle and imprisonment.

Driving Licence

Over 125cc (or with passenger) = 18 years.

Fines

On-the-spot – particularly heavy for speeding offences. Police can impose the fine and collect one quarter of the maximum fine – and must give receipt for amount of fine paid. Illegally parked vehicles can be clamped or towed away with a fine.

Fuel

Unleaded petrol (95 octane). No leaded petrol (but lead substitute additive available). Credit cards accepted at most filling stations – check with card issuer for usage before travelling.

Dipped headlights during daytime compulsory

Must be over 18 years minimum.
