NORWAY

Drinking and Driving

Level of alcohol in blood over 0.02% = severe penalties including heavy fines and/or imprisonment – also surrender of licence.

Driving Licence

Motorcycle up to 125cc = 16 years: 125-400cc = 18 years and over: Over 400cc = 20 years.

Fines

On-the-spot for infringement of traffic regulations. Vehicle illegally parked may be towed away.

Fuel

Unleaded petrol (95 and 98 octane available). Credit cards accepted at most filling stations – check with card issuer for usage before travelling.

Lights

Dipped headlights during daytime compulsory.

Insurance

third party compulsory.

Kids as Pillions

No age limit – approved helmet – must sit on passenger seat. Must not be strapped to rider.

SWEDEN
Drinking and Driving

Level of alcohol in blood over 0.02% = severe penalties including fines, withdrawal of licence and/or imprisonment.


Driving Licence

17 years (NB UK licences which do not have a photograph will not be recognised unless accompanied by photographic proof of identity – eg passport.


Fines – Police can impose but cannot collect fines on-the-spot. Illegally parked vehicles may be towed away.

Dipped headlights during daytime compulsory. Fines imposed for inadequate lighting.
