Drinking and Driving

over 0.02% incurs a heavy fine and suspension of licence. 0.05% incurs additional prison sentence.

Driving Licence

UK licences normally accepted in Poland. Older all green style UK licences should preferably be updated or alternatively accompanied by an International Driving Permit.

Fines

On the spot. Obtain official receipt. Police authorised to request foreign motorist to pay their fines in cash. Wheel clamps in use. Illegally parked cars causing obstruction may be towed away and impounded.

Fuel

Unleaded petrol (95 and 98 octane available). No leaded petrol (additive available). Credit cards accepted at most filling stations – check with card issuer for usage before travelling.

Lights

Use of dipped headlights during daytime compulsory.

Insurance

Third party compulsory.
